Words

Words can cut like a knife,

Don’t turn or you will get stabbed,

The knife goes for the heart,

Like the fist goes for a jab

But what about love they say?

Doesn’t love always save the day?

It’s light in the darkest of nights,

It’s that old familiar sight

But what if you call and no one is there?

What if you ask the mirror,

And get back only a stare?

What if the knife already has your heart?

But instead of death,

You get the slow pain of falling apart,

You take this chance with everything in life,

Do you trust love?

Or bear the knife.
