words

Words are all I see

these words I cannot read

but I know that they are there

and as I stare

these words consume me

and letters they become

as they become letters all i begin to see

are spaces and lines and curves and dots

and then it fades into shades of gray

of these shades, the spaces become a picture

although I cannot see the picture

I know it is there

and as I try to see it closer,

the grays, they vanish and all I am left

is a blank before me
