The Words
I said I need you and
You responded likewise,
Eagerly and lovingly,
We know each other,
Magic of words it is.
In the very beginning
There were no words,
Our life was simple,
Complications arose
Because of words.
Now words identify us,
Words tell us we exist,
They draw our outlines,
Fill them with merits,
And give us meaning.
The words we speak
And their intonation
Tend to change a bit
Either side of the river
We daily negotiate.
