Words

Walking down the hall pointing fingers people stare
they laugh

she is saddened they use words not hands
not feet

words

words aren't mean and hard like hands and feet that’s what they say

but words are Hard
they can be used in wonderful ways
or hurtful ways
words can be sweat like honey
or burning like a hot flame
words can be like a sword
cutting into you
slashing

damaging
tormenting
they could be like a wonderful hot chocolate after playing in the cold

but if to Hot scorches your throat

burning through you
words can be sharp and edgy you must be careful
thinking before you say
say don't spit
be kind not mean
words are powerful like a sword use them cautiously

My poem is inspired by our world today. There is too often bullying in schools.

Bullying is wrong and sticks and stones can break your bones and words can hurt you.

I hope this poem inspires you to use your words to build people up and use

encouraging words, not mean ones.
