Words

By Lilia Ping

Words are our most powerful weapon.

Words can hurt.

Three words can break a heart.

One, I

Two, Hate

Three, You

And tears begin a flood.

Two words can take a life.

One, kill

Two, yourself

Boom, a bullet through the head

Of a boy who already had a hole in his soul.

Crash, as a girl puts her head through a rope and kicks the chair out from under her feet.

Words can start a war

One, Fight

And the war begins and families are torn.

Words can kill a spirit

One, you

Two, Can’t

And now they will never know.

But if no words are said the same can happen…

Words can do good as well

Words can heal.

Three words can mend a heart

One, I

Two, Love

Three, You

Two words can save a life

One, I

Two, Care

The boy with the hole in his sole

puts the gun down.

She takes the rope off her neck and steps of the chair.

One word can stop a war

One, Peace

And no one loses their family.

Words can feed a spirit

One, You

Two, Can

And they become a doctor who saves children

A scientist that finds a cure for cancer

An artist that inspires millions

Words are powerful they can kill or save

Save or kill?

Use the right words.

Kill or save? Save or Kill?
