Words

These are my thoughts

Recorded at midnight

Just be in my bed

Looking up at the night sky

I sit still for a minute

And hear the clock’s ticking

As I hear time pass

second by second

How peaceful it is

How beautifully quiet

The night is

The perfect silence

To record these thoughts

as they come and go

I listen to them and I

Go with the flow

Of the words

That come out

In a wonderful way

Like a piece of music that you want to play

And you do as you say them

They come out with such grace

Get lost in the words

They fly free like birds

As they soar out of your mind

You will probably find

You can use your smarts and your wit

For the world and the people in it

It may sound crazy

But dreams are ideas

That come at night

Are words for day and dreams for night?

I write of a dream

I have for the world

I dream of a story

I will write for the world

Are they not the same

In my mind they are

But maybe that’s just me

We do write about nearly everything

Important events

Historical things

War and conflict

And the songs that we sing

If you’re a dreamer, dream

A writer, then write

But we all must believe

In what's right
