Words
I come from words
They tell me who I am
They describe me
They let me know my past, present, and future
They tell me what they think
They say that I am that “ghetto girl” from across town
They tell me that I have an attitude
WORDS!!
That’s were I come from
Not from the womb of my mother
Or the sperm of my father
I come from the torturing pain from obstacles that face me
WORDS!
I resent them
They try to build something that is impossible to make
Three words is all I want
Not, “I hate you”
The words that a mother says to a new born child
Or in a marriage lusting for one another
I Love you
You are beautiful
