Words

What would words say if they could speak?

Would they tell the story on how they were created? Or like a child they’d answer “I don’t know where I get my name from my mommy named me.” Or do they even know their creator?

Well I know what words would say if they could speak.

They’d tell you the numerous stories they’ve created. They’d tell you the history that they’ve brought. They’d tell you the sorrow, the happiness, and the fear they’ve given.

Words do speak. They speak every year, they speak every day and they even speak right now. Words are sneaky, words are courageous, words are adventurous, words are creative, and words are free.

Words might not know their creator or why they were named, but they know they have power. Words know they can take over a nation. Words know they can bring people together. Words know they can also destroy exactly what they’ve helped built.

Words do speak. They speak to me, they speak to you and they speak to everyone who knows their power. Whether it is a novel, a song, a poem, a speech or declaration. Words know their power.

Poetries meaning for me is my understanding of words power. I hear words talk all the time. I listen to them, I learn from them, I love from them, I cry from them, I care for them, and I live for them. Because words are just like me. They know not where they are created but they know their power.

What would words say if they could speak?

Just take your pen and pad and hear them for yourself.
