I want to express what’s buried in my heart
But words can be fickle things that trap and hurt
I want to use them to describe something wonderful and chaotic
How do I twist these letters and phrases into lilting lines of passion and honor?
When the words I know best are the the ones that the world has taught me.
How do I make these fickle things into things of love and hope?
The world’s words are bitter
Ones that mame and kill and despise
The ones it knows start wars and cause hate
What about the words that stopped wars and ended strife?
The ones that have brought peace and hope?
What of those?
Those are not taught
Because those are the words that came before the words of strive
Those fickle things are the things that began it all
Because when we want something we prey on those words
We use our tongues to weave masterfull lies of hope and deliverance
Because those words, are the words to gain trust
So we go on
We do not trust
So we lie
We twist our words to match the others
Using these fickle things for our gain
We let words of love end in words of hate
So maybe it’s not the words that will express my heart
The real and worthy hope
So I will stand in silence with my eyes afire with passion
