Words are my Weakness

Words are my weakness. Or rather The eloquence, the music That the language can create. Pretty words woven Into pretty promises of love, of the future, And I fall for it every time. Hook. Line. Sinker. I’m a sucker. More fool, you. Indeed. I have been manipulated by words, Led astray, and I lose myself, Forgetting my goals, my dreams. I’m left crushed, broken Until I am again persuaded, enticed By pretty words, Praying, hoping That this time those words hold weight.
