The Words I Love You.

The warming touch of a mother’s hand

Was soon turned to ice

She abandoned her daughter without hesitation

In favor of someone who wasn’t as nice

This man hurt her and her children, too

Because he said he loved her

And because she loved her children

She left them without a mother

A woman entered the girl’s life

Long after the mother had left

The woman had seemed so loving before

Her wicked side showed with every breath

She broke and tore the child apart

With vicious words and thoughts

But of course she claimed she loved the girl

Despite how often she fought

The father was all that she had known

Even when her mother disappeared

But the things he said to his poor sweet daughter

Made her wish her end was near

He used to be filled with laughter and joy

But it soon became darkness and sorrow

Although he said he loved his child

He never was better tomorrow

Although she had crummy parents

She thought she could rely on her sister

But when the sister betrayed the girl

She ran away and never missed her

They fought from dusk until dawn

Despite getting along so well before

Even though her sister insisted she loved her

The girl had already run out the door

The girl had relied on someone she met

To help her through it all

She gave this boy her everything

But he was ultimately her downfall

He manipulated and tricked

And took control of her life

But he still told her he loved her

And wanted to make the girl his wife

She began to look back on her life

Wondering what could have gone wrong

But little did this precious girl know

The answer was in front of her all along

She finally started to realize

How many mistakes she had made

But in the end she found happiness

In her own place where the horrors would fade

The words I Love You mean to give her strength

To give her peace and hope

The words I Love You mean to hold her hand

Especially when she cannot cope

The words I Love You are not just words

They are simple actions too

Like being there when she needs someone most

And trying to help her through

This is what she learned from life

From the simple words I Love You

She learned the wrongs and rights of love

She learned exactly what not to do

The girl grew into a fine young woman

Despite what others believe

Because someone out there will say I Love You

And they are words they will truly mean.
