The words I never got to say.
Dear ex lover,
Ive been used, abused lied to and belittled,
Ive been loved, cared for, praised and saved.
Ive stared into the eyes of someone who no longer loved me,
Ive stared into the eyes of someone screaming for my affection.
Ive felt a million extravagant emotions,
Ive been so numb I didnt feel a thing.
Ive seen death grip its grimy fingers and pull someone too soon,
Ive seen someone stare death in the eye and walk away,
In the end nothing can change the inevitable fate that has been placed before you.
People die,
Things change,
Relationships fail,
So I guess thats why ours did too.
Months turned into weeks,
Weeks turned into days,
Days turned into hours,
Hours turned into seconds,
Suddenly everything we had built crumbled,
you were gone.
The world didnt stop turning,
But mine did.
Only for a moment,
A moment in which everything I had ever felt for you flooded my eyes.
It consumed my preception of what we used to be,
Thats all that was left.
No longer an us,
Only has beens,
Once was,
And used to's.
Us no longer existed.
Everything was silent.
You clouded my mind,
I watched you drive away until you were gone.
Every smile,
Every tear soaked laugh,
Every hug,
Every kiss,
Every complex emotion wasnt enough to change the inevitable fate we were so affermativley provided.
There was no longer a you and I
What took months to create,
Suddenly broke into a thousand shards of glass and withered away into nothing.
The pain will fade,
In time our memories will too,
But the thought of what couldve been will remain.
We dont get to choose what we remember,
It just kind of stings youre memory like wind on a skinned knee,
While some simply drift away with the tide.
But no matter how many people I meet,
How hard I try to forget,
When I close my eyes,
The image of you walking out of my life will burn like hell.
Because we always remember the things we spend our whole lives trying to forget.
Love,
The girl who never fell out of love.
