The Words I Write
The words I write are the things I wish to say
Do you love me?
Things that I wonder about all day
Do you miss me?
Thoughts that leave me up at night.
Why her?
Words that ultimately swim around in my head,
thrashing like a fish out of water,
words that cut my heart every time I think of them.
These words are a call for help.
A wanting, longing to be loved, to be heard.
And although my wild eyes
danced with the darkness of the night.
I was cornered, drowned with the
thoughts, memories, words;
that seem to only grow as I shrank.
That seem to flow as I typed.
That seemed to express how angry, sad,
Happy, confused, and even
How heartbroken I was.
These words never seemed to fail me
And although they hurt like hell to say
They help craft stories,
They help guide poetry,
Line by line and rhyme by rhyme.
