Words Make Warriors

You charge into the fray, armed only with what you know. What you know is the language if your ancestors, passed down through generations of mouths and fostered into its descendants. The plethora of vocabulary is your ammunition to gun down your opponents, or your healing balm to soothe the anger and hate between opposite sides. Words are a mighty power, but also a great responsibility. They can build- they can break. Words can give you the gift of creation, allowing you to make your own world through the actions of your tongue. Words can strip a person down in shame to their barest trace, where humanity is lost and pitiful existence remains. Many people underestimate the effect that their speech has on others, in the rolling tones, highs and lows, and musicality or dissonance. Communication is an art form really, by whence a writer or speaker chooses carefully from a stock of words to paint an idea in thin air before an audience with the colors of argument and prose. When used correctly, words can create something beautiful.
