Words of Meaning
Words of Meaning
When my pen hits paper I am instantly sent into a new world.
A world full of new emotions and thoughts that I've never had before.
Each word flooding my brain at such a pace that the ink can hardly keep up with my mind.
These emotions are burdened by a heavy weight,
These thoughts bombarded with new meanings,
And all I can do is write.
Write about the pain of cherishing and losing all in a matter of seconds.
Write about how a moment can be gone within an instant,
Now only a memory I wish could've lasted a life time.
Write about how he filled me with joy,
How love can make my emotions speak louder than my reason,
How my heart can flutter when they walk through the door,
And how it drops when they leave.
All I can do is write.
Writing to say what cannot be said aloud.
Screaming words on paper that are only quiet whispers to the rest.
Thoughts begging to be said aloud,
But all I can do is write.
My silence turns to noise when letters form words and words form sentences.
These sentences become my story,
These sentences become mine.
My voice becomes louder the more I write what I truly want to say.
What I write helps me realize that I can be heard outside of words on a page.
The sentences that were mine and solely mine become ours.
Instead of speaking with just a pen,
I speak with my voice.
Once, all I could do was write, too afraid to do more.
Now, writing helps me process the world, my thoughts, and my emotions.
And in this moment,
I do more than just write.
I tell a story.
My story.
Our story.
With a stroke of my pen and the sound of my voice I can finally say what needs to be said.
The thoughts and emotions finally shared through words of meaning.
