Words From My Heart

Every year we read poetry, trying to understand

the prose, the rhyme, whatever is at hand.

Read it, write it, all through the year,

poetry can lead us all to tears.

Poetry can empower us,

to share just how we feel,

When words do not came naturally,

we use rhyming words so gallantly.

When trying to impress my girl,

Rhyming words I can hurl,

Towards her heart my love arrows fly,

I am bad at this ‘cause I am a guy.

But what I have learned from poetry’s words

is it can leave us feeling like a small songbird,

Sharing my heart for all to hear,

for anyone who wants to lend an ear.

Words will move you, your heart to sing,

when the love you share is the main thing.

The feelings and words that come from your heart,

when done in a poem is a great way to start.
