Words spoken
If flags could tell a story
and metal a song
wood a phrase
what would they say?
They'd fly into the air
sail into oblivion
escape gravity
and come back
Reach the farthest place
into the oblivion of space
to the farthest reaches of the universe
and touch our souls
The role the people
who spin these objects
is to tell the stories
to our hope
Perhaps this is why
the girls who do this
spin these objects
are so awkward
Maybe it's just that people
don't want to hear these words
