Words were worthless when I

Words were worthless when I spoke

I felt like I couldnt express myself

and silly slipped out I just sounded  so dumb

So I took one finger and between my thumb

The pen felt so comfortable in my palm

It was like my hand knew better than my mouth

and I scribbled and scratched away at parchment

and pages seemed to fly as I wrote

Those emotions that I kept like

the chain that restrains a convict

were finally unchained

I feel so liberated like a loose canon

I can write whatever I feel and No One has to know

And after its written

Whether you throw it away or keep it

The writing is a part of you

To use for reflections, react with remorse

Reading and re-reading, creating perfection

or destruction

and every word is yours
