Words in the Wind

Take a few words,

Bind them with string,

Add a little rhythm,

And hear the music they bring.

Left without a pen,

Still making a song,

Chase away the darkness -

Make the night not as long.

Build a dam against the flow

I’ll bust through the wall.

Try to block the river of verse;

Can’t catch it all.

The movement of the beat

Is force that can’t be blocked.

Ride the waves of the ocean,

But its current can’t be stopped.

Take away the paper,

Just the wind in the trees -

Whatever is left,

I’ll still have my poetry.
