Words You Say
I take the blade and slice away
As I think about the words you say
I know you like to tease and chide
I say I don't care, but deep inside
With every joke, each crass remark
A light turns off, my soul gets dark
Until I have to cut my wrists
Just to feel a hint of bliss
I used to be so full of joy
But I've been turned into a target, a toy
I sob when I get home from school
Wondering why you must be so cruel
I know that it's not me, it's you
But I can't forget the things you do
You may not know, but every day
I'm affected by the words you say
