Work of Art

You were always struggling

The one who was always in pain

But you were the only one

Who could make me feel okay

You were always indecisive

You always thought before you spoke

You worried how people would see you

If they would think that you were broke

But, I will never think of you as less than what you are

You’re beautiful

You’re unstoppable

Darling, you’re a work of art

When you loved, you loved things fiercely

When you cried it broke my heart

When you laughed your eyes lit up

And when you left I fell apart

Still, I will never think of you as less than what you are

You’re beautiful

You’re unstoppable

Darling, you’re a work of art

And I know it might sound selfish

To want you back in my life

Because you’re happier now, without me

And that cuts through me like a knife

And even though I know you’re not struggling

And you’re no longer in pain

It hurts because I have no one

Who can make me feel okay
