Works Done in Vain

Up before the crack of dawn A new day is brought upon Each of us Whether in the saddle or on a bus Heading north Heading south Heading out And about Bringing the cattle in Or the bread and butter for your kin Above, Lord you fly Protectin till the moon is high Sleet, snow, or rain Some works done in vain Yet you forgive As we try to live Each day till it's our last Oh this life goes by too fast Still we'll stand tall Cuz it'll be our greatest fall Soaring through just as a dove Lord, till we find somebody to love
