This World

Who am I?

What am I?

Where am I?

How should I?

Why would I?

                 Can I?

As I look with unseeing eyes

At a world ready for demise

I ask these questions in my head

I can feel the strength of my forefathers

Racing in my veins as I journey farther

Into this world set upon inequality

Putting up a front for all to believe

This world believes they are doing the right thing

Got to work, school, laugh, play, jump, and sing

And the only ones interested in equality

Are my brothers and sisters, my dark skinned family

We have fought this battle for hundreds of years

And yet we are still fighting I fear

We have one of us as President hooray

Yet they won't give him respect and give him his name

I look upon this world and I cry

As evil wrecks havoc day and night.
