The World is in Decay

Dear World,

Clear shards in the icy Arctic melts,

The black and white creature bolts,

As the temperature rises degree by degree,

Extinction of animals occurs, like the bee.

What will happen to those that live around the equator,

When the world can no longer cater?

As lively grasslands become barren desserts,

People can no longer settle in the outskirts.

The ownership of resourceful land will be ever scarce,

As the price rockets for trees, like the alerce.

Where will we place all the animals and civilians?

Necessities alone will cost now cost billions.

Truth is, the world is in decay,

yet there's no rule, law, or politician that can keep us at bay.

Wake up before the world becomes a fireball,

For if we don't come together, all will eventually fall.
