This World That I Call My Own

What kind of world is this That I call my own? A world where a young child Is afraid of going home A world where a man Will take innocence from a child Making them live their lives in fear With their minds running wild This is a world where daddies hit And mommies scream Both killing their children Killing their hopes and dreams What kind of world is this That I call my own? A world where you’ll only be accepted If you’re a fucking clone A world so full of shit And made of lies Can you spot who is fake? Can you see it in their eyes? This is a world where self expression Is pushed to fall It’s despised and destroyed To boost the egos of them all How has it taken so long to open my eyes? How has it taken me this long to realize That this world is fucked up It’s so out of touch That’s why I wrote this poem Because I want to fix all of these problems In this world that I call my own
