The World is an Imperfect Place

The world is an imperfect place,

And I feel like I just another face in the crowd;

Searched for but never found.

What I would give to be accepted.

What I would give to be friended.

What I would give to be loved.

What I would give to be me.

But I wouldn't change the world.

The world is an imperfect place.

If the world is what you make it,

Then I wouldn't change just to please

Because then I would be losing the battle to find security.

I would be losing my own individuality.

The world is an imperfect place.

Wars, hurt, pain, loss

We live to steal, kill, and destroy

Unless someone stops the madness.

The world is an imperfect place.

If I would go back and stop the Holocaust,

The same amount of lives would still be lost,

In another time and another place.

Maybe just a different race, where everyone wants to win.

The world is an imperfect place.

I can keep you from failing.

I can teach you, and give you all the tools,

But success is just a lie

Until you learn to fall down and cry.

The world is an imperfect place,

But we learn from our hurt and healing and mistakes.

There's no magic pill that can change it all.

But I know that help will come when I call.

The world is what you make it.
