The world as it shall be
The world as it shall be.
or maybe we’re destined to a world that’s quite the opposite.
Maybe light that used to cascade over these scenes
was nothing more than daytime passing by
gaseous bodies floating an unimaginable distance away
as distant as all I ever wanted
But I still see those streams of bright all day long.
Even when,
its 4am and I’m gripping a bottle
when all I’d rather do is hold that which is lost to me
no more rays of day in these miserable hours
I close the blinds
and I don’t think of you
But sleep takes over
like rolling clouds when it was raining
and I was so happy when it rained
for my dear melancholy was now for all to see
and streets were sweeped with streams
of my regard for you
it always pours out even when I don’t want it to.
And so I’m sorry when it does,
on late nights I'll pour it on these sheets
and I feel better when I write it down
it makes me feel like I was finally heard.
Its just something that has to be said
and I'd rather hurt then feel nothing at all
and if I can't tell you
I'll just tell the paper
I feel better now
Poetry saved my life.
