World of Love

Children see the hate, Youth feel the fear, Mothers hear the pain, And fathers touch the tears, Venomous, crushing, stinging, biting, Life becomes a battle lost fighting, Empty, lonely, scared, lost, Raging hope in every last thought The sands of time blow and the canyons divide, Hearts split and lips tell lies, “Skin is you”, the tribes all chant, “Skin is color”, the enemies dance Beauty is lost in the beholder’s eye, Injustice walks with its head held high, Guilty is a mere verdict for show, “Color is deeper than love”, they know To join hands and free the caged white dove, To stand back and let the black raven fly above, To accept the world, its color, its grace Is to save a life from a world of hate
