The World from my Perspective
A world filled with argument and debate-
Often plagued with disrespect and hate
Of how we should fix and remake
And what steps we need to take…
To rebuild the broken society we see-
To help those in need
And while those discussions go
We don’t really solve the issues we know
It seems like a puzzle- with the pieces scattered,
Looking as if they never mattered
And so while we try to find solutions
We just make-up fake resolutions
But there is still hope:
Those who are not willing to cope-
They pick up the pieces
In hopes the problems will cease
We are inspired to follow their lead-
To heal the brokenness we see
And these efforts are what will change the world
Because nothing will change if no one’s concerned
So even though face we a cavern of differences
We will ignore our personal preferences
And instead work to achieve a common goal
To have a world- united and whole
So we can look forward to a bright future
Filled with hope and grandeur
I don’t know about you…
But I look forward to a world where the oceans are truly blue
And the skies carry no trace of pollution
While the world faces a revolution
Of warless countries and unrelenting aid
Issues like poverty and homelessness will disintegrate
The landfills will stop overflowing
And our kindness and compassion will keep growing,
Along with our forests and trees
Where we strengthen the common pleas
And help all those in need
One day we will all achieve this- and that’s a fact
As long as we don’t dismiss, but instead act;
On the problems we face
And also show everybody some needed grace
Because the world could be a much, much, much better place
