World Peace
As I walk through the foggy streets,
In a city with the sun not yet risen,
It seemed eeiriely quiet for that moment.
All I heard was the slight breeze,
My feet crunching on the newly hydrated fallen leaves,
Along with the slight flow of a man-made stream to my right.
I continue walking through the still morning,
Calling the bus service to not come to pick me up.
It was a short call and I made sure of it.
Usually you hear sirens,
Or a train horn indicating its presence,
But the only automated sound, other than my phone, was the occasional breeze of a passing car.
As I walk to my school,
The halls and the building were sparsly lit, Adding on to the peacefulness,
Further making me feel as if time has stopped.
The feeling of being the first to arrive,
At a school where I usually arrive last,
Gave me a sense of the calmness.
Was that feeling I was feeling,
Described as being hyper aware,
Or the feeling of the world at peace.
Yes,
I felt at that moment that the world was at peace,
I guess I never felt it before.
There'ssomething about walking along a normally busy street,
Engulfed in fog,
As you walk to a school usually filled with over 1,000 people.
