A World of Poetry

Poetry makes the world go round,

found in places you wouldn’t expect.

I love its flowy and rhythmic sound,

a love that has not died quite yet.

My love for poetry started while young,

when doing easy ABAB rhyme schemes.

I love how the syllables floated off my tongue,

which feels better than it seems.

My favorite poems are lyrics in songs,

that flow with the music so well.

Some are short, others are long,

but to me, they are all quite swell.

My favorite poet happens to be Dr. Seuss,

his poems always put a smile on my face.

But I put his poems to good use,

when reading them to my nephew at his place.

Poetry has a world of its own,

a world that’s only partially discovered.

With poetry, so much more can be performed;

but with this poem, so little has been covered.
