The World is Quiet Here

The world is quiet here.

The place that I once did know.

The place I used to call my home.

The place my family and friends did stay.

The place that I spent every day.

The world is quiet here.

The children used to laugh and play in streets one now finds tinted gray.

The world is dark and scary too,

but I never thought it'd hit so soon

the beautiful world I thought I knew.

The world is quiet here.

The place I used to know and love

has flown away like a sad, sad dove.

All I have now are memories to stay

with me until my final day.

The world is quiet here.
