the world sighed

the boy cried

and the world sighed

but there was nothing they could do

he was just another life lost

another sad song

a tally in the book of boo-hoo’s

they said they were sorry

but in all reality it was no farther from the truth

they didn’t care about him

or his heart

or his broken life’s tears

or the fact that he had never felt loved in years

so the boy cried

while the world sighed

saying there was nothing that they could have done
