A World of Sound

Partway through the day, tired, done, ready to do nothing.

That's when I plug in my headphones,

lay back,

close my eyes,

and that's when it fills my ears.

Reaches into my brain and awakens ideas that have been for too long tucked away,

too long been trapped and trying to get out.

My eyes open to a world of ideas,

a world of colors,

a world that I only ever see when I hear it.

And I'm truly alive,

more alive now than any other time in the day.

I find myself getting up,

not thinking but feeling,

not awake but alive,

in my own world of sound where I know I can do anything.
