The World Today
Beating hearts
And
Pounding feet
Searching eyes
And
Screaming teeth
Lying lips
And
Drowning dreams
Broken homes
And
Shattered Scenes
Heaving Lungs
And
Cringing Souls
Unhindging Fists
And
Words never told
Unspoken Thoughts
And
Pain Foretold
Streaming Tears
And
Flowing Blood
Darkened Skin
And
Wounded Love
Pressing Bruises
And
Cutting Deep
Attempting Escape
And
Attempting to become Unseen
This is the World
Cold
Cruel
And to so many
A
Defeat
But nothing is happening
Or
So people make it seem
As they forget
About
The lives ending
Violence, Torture
And
All sorts of Pain
Crying children
And
Making death a game
Shooting guns
And
Shooting up
Popping pills
And
Doing drugs
Not remembering
The
Night before
Going to parties
And
Drinking up
Empty homes
And
Empty minds
Motherless
And
Fatherless
Family holding
No
Meaning
Recollection of memories
Making
Childhood become haunting
Misunderstood
And
Unwanted
People find their
Feelings
As nothing much
Life has became
Rather
Unvalued
As the highest goals held
Are
Hopes of seeing tomorrow
Slowly the World
Starts
To come to an end
And is surrounded
By
Darkness.
