World Wide Web
Woke up and first thing she did was check her Instagram ! Ain't even concerned about a goodnights rest, cuz she wanna check on her Facebook fam. So concerned about her snap chat, when she has other things she should be thinking about but instead she'd rather get turned up and post pics of herself in a waist trainer before she heads out.
She's very much aware of what goes on in the world today but she settles for less and hides her intelligence so she won't feel ashamed of being socially cast away. Traded in her kinky crown for a 30in weave, exchanging secrets with fake friends, making up lies that she doesn't even believe.
She thought she was beautiful but always worried about what others thought. She wore her mask so well hiding all the knowledge she was taught. Faking it everyday terrified of being caught. Constantly being told that she needs to tone it down. Changing up her tone of voice when certain people come around.
Because being proud of her blackness is something she can't seem to do. But she logs on to instagram and everyone's raving about Kim k's new hair do. You know ! The "boxer braids" ! The cute NEW style that's all the rage. Society's shaped her into thinking that she's unacceptable so instead of being who she is she's showing everyone a watered down version of herself you know!
Giving her body away to men that don't even respect her. Killing herself, selling her soul to ungodly men who don't know any better. Not even focused on feeding her soul because she wants to be someone's eye candy. She's got dreams of being famous instead of using her knowledge that would come in handy.
The drugs take all the pain away not realizing she's destroying herself. Always stressed out from living a double life not realizing it’s destroying her health. she's doing it for the likes and followers but I wonder if she noticed that all she needed to do was keep it real, then she'd see how many people would follow her.
We gotta teach our baby girls to be smart ! A lot of em are twerking before they get to head start. Cuz living in a world where the black women isn't even considered, turns into rage and then they label us strong but bitter. Why can't we understand how beautiful we are without a man telling us. And don't put your faith into a man who can't protect you. He doesn't see your potential, his intentions aren't love they're lust!
Stop trying to fit in be the queen that you are because chasing after stupid dudes who don't respect you won't get you far. Beware of fake friends they'll do anything to see you down cuz when you’re up they’re smiling in ya face but screaming that chick fake when you ain't around. Set standards for yourself, learn to be comfortable in your skin cuz you'll never find solace without peace within.
