The World of Wonderland's Rabbit
Today is the world of Wonderland's rabbit;
people in a rush, never stoping to consider
anything.
"I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!"
They are late, too late,
too late to realize what they've lost,
what they are continuing to lose
because they refuse to slow down.
"No time to say hello!"
No time to stay, no time for anyone else,
not future generations and certianly not for the Earth.
Now is the appointment that must be kept,
convienience the work at hand.
No time to think about the consequenses.
Time is a rigid mistress, waiting for no man.
We lock her in round room with numbers
and allow her hands to clean it's face,
but never stop honor her with the respect she is due.
She is short, but not without power.
She sees the future and weeps,
crying out warning with long tolls as the hours tick by.
Our only response, "I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!"
