The World Is Yours
It happened in the ninth grade
It happened all so quick
I didn’t see it coming
And it hit me like a brick
High school made realize that
My future was so near
I finally realized that
School mattered from here
I focused on my grades
And didn’t let it out of hand
“I want to be a lawyer”!
And I started to make plans
I realized I grew up
And being a kid was in the past
I wanted to be something,
Something that would last
I’d always loved history
And other law stuff too
I decided where my future was
And what I want to do
Through my high school years I glowed up
From the kid I used to be
And it was then I realized
The world is mine to see
It’s time for me to grow up
And be all that I can be
