The World's Story
I’ve seen it all.
I’ve felt it all.
I’ve heard it all.
As dinosaurs roam and the grass grew tall.
As the Native Americans hunt and the animals ran.
I’ve seen the colonists walk in the colonies and the British King charge them unfairly.
As the slaves got captured and work in the fields
All the pain I’ve felt, it’s so hard to believe it is real.
I watched the Boston Massacre, it was another agonizing sight.
I’ve seen the American Revolution take place.
I heard the shots and saw the blood.
The war was excruciating and the damage was done.
I saw the first president get elected into the new nation.
I saw World War I and War World II.
I saw Martin Luther King Jr. explain his dream to the people who cared.
In the end he was shot, but his dream was never forgotten.
I saw 9/11. The twin towers fell and too many people were lost.
I watched their lives be taken away and the pain is still felt on the anniversary of that day.
That is an ache that will never go away.
I’ve seen people stand up and get knocked down, but giving up was not an option.
I’ve watched as the soldiers that have survived in the war, get treated like it doesn’t matter,
And they deserve so much more.
When the call comes to a family that their loved one is no longer alive…
I saw their dismay and I heard their cries.
I’ve seen those who have died and their legacies live on.
I saw the day that the USA’s first Black President, Barack Obama, was born.
I’ve seen it all.
I’ve felt it all.
I’ve heard it all.
I know it all.
This is the world’s story.
This is My Story.
