Worldwide Instrument
I am a stranger to this world, fed man’s lies to conform. Waiting for my fate to unfurl, my instinct is slowly torn. Judge, jury, and executioner is the true name of the people; sooner to pull the trigger than bring me to the steeple. Time becomes the enemy of my natural born knowledge, which is slowly replaced with notions and lessons of college. Comfort and stability, become the illusion of a flawed and empty existence. Pain is the lesson that whispers, for you to listen in the distance. To open your eyes to truth, is to realize the one thing in this world that is missing. To stand with the few unveils the fog, but I am constantly pulled by the many to become an instrument, part of man’s worldwide cog. Turning endlessly in a state of hollow bliss, they turn my focus to true love as nothing more than a physical kiss. Never the person before me, but in just the act itself, they hide true emotions as they throw me down a well. Told to stay, rest and comfortably drown, making me forget to ask the reason for being thrown down. To pull the curtains from my eyes is to be hated by the consensus. To speak truth from my mouth is to be seen pointing a weapon. For a while I will deceive them in my performance, as I greet them with a bow. I will soon unveil all their distorted truths, and they will view my words as a king wearing the one true crown.
