The Worn Warrior

Strength to stand strongly now,

the refusal to fall or bow to man.

The look strong, all scowl.

Is it really a frown all around?

It could be a slight simple plan.

Or simply a man holding his ground.

Clouds all around in front and back.

White welcoming wisps of air.

Or the dark glower of clouds coal black.

Don’t stop to stare at the storm,

As it fights to stop you from the fair.

Stay focused on the welcoming warm.

The fear to fail and fall.

The fear of falling far.

The fear of missing the ball.

Standing worn and feeling forlorn.

Yet we have crazy courage to fight against the mar.

For we will fight because we will never be torn.
