Worried Willy

Worried Willy always wondered and waited

Stuttering every word that he stated

Tongue-twisted whispers with every word

Because he was nervous, he wasn’t heard

Sweating and shaking from speaking aloud

People said “Smile, don’t worry, be proud”

But he couldn’t stop shaking in his boots

Butterflies in his chest screeched loud like flutes

His heavy breathing was a plane engine

With a dull knife, you could cut the tension

His face would slowly turn white like a ghost

But one thing always annoyed him the most

While his sweat made his scared face glisten

No one even cared enough to listen
