worst time

It doesn't hit you in the moment

Your in shock

Your brain protecting you

From what should have never happened

It hits you only

When your alone with your thoughts

When it can take over

Leaving you breathless

With shaking hands

Its favorite time to hit you

Is when your sleeping

Flashing images

You wish to never see again

Over and over

Until you open your eyes

Leaving you restless

Only to repeat again
