Worth
I am worth one thousand sleepless nights.
Back to chest,
groin to ass,
steel arm my torso,
kiss my neck,
fully awake,
equally aware.
This is not for the light hearted.
Those who pay this price must first,
possess
a spine
to hold himself up,
flexible against the winds of Katrina,
my angry, alter ego.
This is not like Ali Baba
with one thousand tales to tell.
This is one song on repeat.
Don't sleep.
Embrace me,
chase me
up one end
down
the next.
Make my laugh.
Linking laughter with light hearted slaps and shoves.
Connecting chuckles,
Matrimonial merriment.
One thousand sleepless nights
of sweaty sheets,
tossed blankets,
and the occasional,
inside joke.
One thousand sleepless nights,
where one holds another.
Where we are together
in one endless night,
moonlighted,
highlighted,
forever,
for us.
This,
This is what I am worth.
