Worth
Id always thought that I’d never be much
no no no never mean much to anyone
is what I meant
Or at least that’s what my minds telling me.
Why can’t I let anyone in ..
maybe because I’m so freaking difficult but then again
I’m like everyone else.
I sit at home by myself wondering who hurt me so bad
that I forget All about my worth and what I stood for .
I paint this picture of myself that everyone sees
well I think they do because I’ve never let anyone get close enough to see me for me.
I try and cry to help myself understand that my beauty is skin deep
But when I look in the mirror all I see is the surface and imperfect lines, marks and bruises
that were left by a man, a man who never meant shit
but brought me so much pain and sorrow
only for the man to come in my life and for me to shut them out because
no man will ever be satisfied with what I have to offer.
I stand for those who stand for nothing because of the insecurities that were brought on them by you no good men we call our fathers
who have us but never claimed them as their daughters.
Well the game just begun we’re taking our joy back , picking up our broken pieces, and realizing how beautiful our skin is.
And that the need of a man is only a figure of our imagination and we are..
Oh baby we are God’s best creations.
