Worth Living

You woke up today, mom yelling, baby crying

You go downstairs, news is on, people dying.

But is this all life is about?

Nah, because life is worth living.

Make things better on your own street,

you can start by giving

a smile or water to the man standing in the heat.

It isn't everyday that you get the chance to change

so while you can and while you are able say

life is worth living.

We have the power to stop the hate

in our own hearts and maybe that will be contagious.

You show that life is precious and every soul is of value

when you support the folks in your life and the strangers around you,

because life is worth living.

When that girl thinks she's not worth it and she stays quiet in the shadows

be a friend, show you care and that those thoughts are the liars.

Because every person should have the chance to have someone for them,

so stand up for her and him and them and say boldly

life is worth living.
