Worth's a Grade

You HAVE to do good in school

All A’s for grades or you’ll never get paid

“Due at 11:59 pm NO EXCUSES”

“Learn this formula although it’ll most likely have no uses”

If you can’t pass you’re utterly useless

In this life and in the next

You don’t understand?

Well too bad, put your pencil in your hand

Study, Study, Study, STUDY

Study or fail

Your choice

“School stresses you out? Being an adult is worse. You’re too young to be stressed out.”

“11:59, double-spaced, 10 pages, y = (x +2)(x - 7), solve it in 10 seconds, you’re not finished?

Too bad, turn in the test, you’ll fail anyway now shut your mouth”

Maybe you should’ve worked harder

Maybe you need to be smarter

Maybe I need to study

Maybe I need to study

Maybe I need to study

Maybe I need to study

Maybe I need more practice

It’s my fault

I didn’t study hard enough

I didn’t push myself toward the edge

My fault, I should’ve, I could’ve, Why didn’t I?

“Your fault, you should’ve, you could’ve, why didn’t you?”

Maybe you need to be pushed off the ledge

That’ll get you to try

Therefore do 10 more assignments and they're due tomorrow

At 11:59 pm or else

You can’t be full of success

Not when you don’t pass a test

You’ll be below the rest

Always the worst never the best

I can’t go anywhere in life without school

I can’t be anything without being evaluated of my worth

Using a letter

A percentage

I'm just a number

Even though I'm the future

I’m supposed to be the smart kid

“How could you not pass?”

“You’re better than this!”

“Did you even TRY?!”

Yes I did

The hardest I could have

I just don’t understand

I thought I knew

I thought I retained what I learned

I thought

I thought

I thought

I thought

I think I did as well as I could

I think I did well for the time I was given

I think I did well even though we had to rush

I think I did well even though we didn’t have much time

I think I did well knowing how hard I tried to learn

I think I did well even though it’s not perfect

I think I can do better

I think I WILL do better

I know I will do better

I know I will try again

I know I will work harder

I know my worth isn’t determined by a percentage

I know I can go somewhere

And I WILL go somewhere
