Would you like to come?
It’s a sixteen mile hike
Up a mountain to the top
We will view the beautiful trees
Smell nature in the breeze
Of course, is the reply
We leave the night before
First, we drive and drive
We laugh and talk on our way
Arrival and stretch out our legs
What fun is happening now
We lay awake for hours
Laughing, talking, admiring the stars
The bed is a bit bouncy
But of course, it is a trampoline
Wake up call at six
Did we even sleep?
I think perhaps we did not
But it doesn’t matter, today we walk
We begin our hike, joyful
Good souls admiring creation
We make it to the top
With little adventure
The cliff up top is high
The wind is blowing through
Her backpack went diving!
Oh now what do we do?
Down the cliff he scales
A hero to the rescue
Back up he climbs with his prize
Inside, the phone broken
Communication gone
We start back down the mountain
Laughing at crazy adventure
We reach the cool stream
Our feet are sore
The water is wonderful, numbing
We walk some more, until the end
Triumphant we are
For sixteen miles did we go
As friends we began, and ended
Legs sore and tired,
We drive back to our homes
Remember our little weekend adventure
Wanting to do it again
Would you like to come?
