Would you take my hand?
Would you take my hand?
Could you see beyond the stereotype that places a stand on my innocent hands?
Can you even say “hi” to me without feeling that ashamed?
Could you listen to my loud cries for acceptance, over those of your shunning friends?
Could you stop the hits from coming, from those who wish to hate me for my difference?
Would you take Pride in the fact that I’m a human like you?
Do you take it upon yourself to look into the eyes of others and fight off there ignorance fancies?
Have you the reason why I can’t dress how I wish?
Can you tell me why I have less right to live life and love, than you do?
Tell me why I don’t have the right to believe what I believe?
Can you explain what thing, what part of me makes me less human than thee?
What is it in my blood,
Does it say it in my eyes
Is it written all over my skin?
Is just something that I don’t realize!
What is it that makes me less than you!
Please show this proof!
How can you be so proud when I hurt myself or take my life?
Wait or didn’t you think that be the consequences of your action.
Oh right sticks and stones, funny because it’s your words that cause my tears, take makes me want to end it all. Oh yea that’s right my dear.
But wait you didn’t think that far, so, many never do.
It’s only when blood is on their hand they do. For only then do they see the truth?
But this is what I say to you,
I might not look how you do, I might not like what you like, I might not even speak how you think.
Yes now this is the word you think “Freak?”
But if I was to turn the tables would you say what I do?
No wait you wouldn’t right because you could never be a faggot, and Lesbo, a gothic freak, some ghetto hoodlum, some retarder; that will never be you. But what about your child? Quite now right?
What if I was your child how would you feel then if someone like you say and treating me the same as you do now and then.
Would you stand by me when I was born this way?
Could you say you love me?
Could you hold tight my small innocent hands?
Could you understand that I’m prefect; that I’m just like everyone else?
Could you protect me then mommy, what about you daddy?
COULD YOU HOLD MY HAND?
