Wouldn't It Be Nice

Wouldn't it be nice,

If everyone you saw,

Gave you a cheerful smile,

As if it were the law?

A friendly wave to those you pass on the street,

And a simple "please" and "thank you",

To the person who offers you water when you're out in the heat.

Wouldn't it be nice if families never fought,

And kids freed the little bugs that they caught?

Is a friendly and polite world too much to ask for,

When all it takes is a person holding open the door?
